Haka Tours is the best way to see New Zealand! Haka Tours was recommended to me and it turned out to be the best decision to book them for my first trip to New Zealand. I selected the North Island tour plus a two day extension to Christchurch based on my travel dates. I would have loved to book the 16 day tour to explore more of the South Island if it had worked in my schedule. The best part of this experience was touring with a small group and we truly became a family by the end of the tour even crying when we said goodbye. There was so much included in the tour even if you didn't book any add-ons. Our tour guide Si was phenomenal and took us to all the great spots that felt like hidden gems. The best activities were Hobbiton and the Maori cultural experiences. I can't recommend using this tour company more. We are already planning a trip back in a few years to see the rest of the South Island.

4 Tours I Will Remember 4 Ever. New Zealand was a place that had been on my bucket list for a long time, and last month I finally got the chance to make it over there. In order to experience as much of the country as I could, I booked four tours spanning one month. I signed up for the 3-Day Bay of Islands + 17-Day Amplified Adventure + 5-Day Snow Explorer + 7-Day Snow Safari Tours. I enjoyed the small group size, which was very conducive to all of us quickly becoming a whanau (family.) The guides I had for each tour (Ruth for Bay of Islands + Amplified Adventure Tours; Morgs for Snow Explorer; Lizzie for Snow Safari) were incredibly helpful, energetic, and knowledgeable about the locations and about New Zealand history and culture. The great thing about Haka Tours is the way the tours are structured: they provide a base package including accommodation + transport (except flights) + some meals (+ lift passes for snow tours) and as many or as few activities as desired can be added on either before or during the tour for a completely customizable experience. My main highlights were jumping off the Nevis bungy in Queenstown, skydiving over Lake Taupo, learning the Haka and eating a Hangi at Kohutapu Lodge, heli-boarding in Wanaka, and hiking the Franz Josef glacier. Unfortunately a couple of my must-do activities (Tongariro Crossing + Milford Sound day trip) were cancelled due to bad weather, but there was nothing anyone could do about that, and the guides were incredibly helpful in scheduling alternate activities. Overall, I have to thank all the staff at Haka Tours for all their help in arranging what turned out to be one of the best months of my life, and I must give special thanks to Ruth + Morgs + Lizzie for being outstanding tour guides/managers. I would definitely recommend Haka Tours to anyone looking to have a wonderful New Zealand experience.
Liz our tour guide was Awesome, great hostels used. Travel time on bus was minimal with plenty of good stops. Highly recommend this tour.
The 16-day Amplified Tour of the North and South Islands completely exceeded my expectations. One can easily be amazed by the natural beauty of NZ, but being a part of this tour (shoutout to our guide Baby J) made my visit unforgettably special. What attracted me to Haka Tours was the smaller group size, flexibility, freedom to choose my own activities and the chill vibe mixed with great knowledge from our local guides. I’d definitely book with Haka Tours again and highly recommend traveling with them through this beautiful country!
Holiday of a lifetime! I just finished my 16 day NZ haka tour and I think it's fair to say I definitely have the post-tour blues! The tour was amazing, very well organised and the time was balanced well with activities. We had a great tour guide, Baby Jesus (Andy) who was so good to us, thanks baby J! I would recommend this tour to anyone under 40 who loves experiencing new things and meeting awesome people. I'll never forget September 2019. Sweet as, bro!
AWESOME Tour guide (Lizzie) is the bomb! She pointed out awesome places to take pics, and help us navigate through the otherwise hectic schedule easily! Accommodation and Slider (the tour bus) met expectation nicely. Would go again next time! Thank you Haka tour for making the trip awesome
Great Experience I had never been to New Zealand before and the 7 day snow tour from queenstown to Christchurch was awesome. We went to 6 mountains in 7 days and on my day off in queenstown I went to the shotover jet, skyline gondola, the ledge bunji and also went on the luge. Was a great tour!!
Great Way to Explore Skiing on the South Island. I am on exchange in New Zealand from Canada, and am an avid skier back home. The Ski Safari with Haka tours was the perfect way to explore skiing when I felt so lost. The people I met were amazing, I got to ski fantastic hills with minimal fuss, and our guide (Simon) was very personable and passionate. I was also really grateful that all the rentals I needed could be organized through Haka, and I didn't have to stress about basically anything that week. My only complaint is I wish I had more time to go on one of their longer tours - it was a truly wonderful experience and I would wholeheartedly recommend Haka for anyone looking to explore New Zealand, especially on the slopes.
Don’t give it a second thought- visit NZ and sign up for a Haka Tour!!! I just got back from the South Island Haka tour and definitely have to say it was one of the best vacations ever. Our tour guide, Baby J, was incredibly chill and organized. The trip was entirely stress free and fun. Every city we visited was amazing, scenery was unbeatable, accommodations were clean and nice, and I made life long friends that I hope to travel with again in the futures. I highly recommend Haka tours! Worth every penny! Great for solo travelers (that was me!).
My first solo trip was memorable thanks to haka tours. I went on the 16 day amplified tour with guide Baby J aka Andy. The inclusions were action packed from hiking to just chilling carving a jade pendant (actually a bit of a highlight). I didn’t do a lot of add ons due to money constraints but I felt like the tour still had a bunch to do. Or you could relax like I did in the South Island when I needed a rest. The guide, Andy had a passion for his country and his culture, which made the experience authentic. He really took the time to answer our questions about NZ. Foodwise, yes you will have to fend at lunch and dinner, but the towns have a lot of food options depending on your budget. Andy was quick to point out what attractions there were at each town and where to eat. Keeping restaurants out to optional choices, but I would recommend tour gang dinners- lots of fun and get to know each other. Other than that, there’s always a supermarket if you want to cook in- do a mix. Look forward to the Maori village, it’s great to spend time with the family and learn the haka and eat the hangi. Some issues were more with the itinerary description. The end dates confused a lot of people booking flights home, but we’ve been told that this will effectively change due to complaints. Please clarify dates AND times because you’ll want to get it right. Also be aware that add ons can get cancelled due to weather, but safety first. The refund will be added to the tab and yes you can add activities along the way if you weren’t so sure when you book the tour.
